Being a global company, we have staff, clients, advocacy partners, patients, and physician partners in all corners of the globe. Our day to day is therefore such a rich cultural puzzle- and we love it!
I’ve been working with Leapcure for 4 years, starting as Advocacy Partnerships Manager and now serving as VP of Advocacy and Growth; I’ve been so excited to grow along with the company. Each year, we welcome new parts of the world into our fold, and this will be constant evolution for us. Part of working with a global company is being present in many time zones, and I wanted to embrace the opportunity to be more present in the Pacific time zone in 2022.
I recently made the move across The Atlantic (& the continental United States) to San Francisco to spend more time in person with the US-based team members, and generally to experience a new city. Leapcure has always been great at supporting our team in their personal growth and goals, as well as enabling the professional growth they seek to make the most impact for research and patients.
I felt as if the stars had aligned and it was my turn to make a big jump.
The current heatwave might be giving a false illusion of typical San Francisco weather for me, but coming from Wales, the return of the usual colder temperatures will feel like home in no time!
A special part of our global lens that we highly value (and that I have a real appreciation for) is our team members continuing to have exposure to/consideration of as many cultures as possible – this is integral to so much of our day to day activity.
Part of the critical DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) work we do is nurturing a team that can understand and grow their understanding of various cultures so patients feel understood, recognised, and represented.
I’m excited to learn about new cultures, try new foods, and experience a different way of life. It has only just begun, but I can already tell this will be a defining chapter for both my professional and personal lives.
We’ll continue to share more about the different pieces of our global presence and lens in the coming months but in the meantime, here is a photo of Kartik, our VP of Business Transformation & DE&I, and myself – enjoying the San Francisco sights!
